Position: Senior Field Survey Chief


Location: Wenatchee, Washington


What You’ll Do:

• Lead daily field operations across boundary, topographic, construction staking, ALTA, platting, municipal, and private sector projects.

• Train, mentor, and develop junior field technicians into high-performing professionals.

• Collaborate directly with our Licensed PLS, engineering, architectural, and planning teams.

• Ensure precision data collection, proper equipment operation, and safety compliance.

• Engage with clients and project teams as a trusted field representative.

• Play a key role in shaping Complete Design’s survey department for the future.


What We’re Looking For:

• 8+ years of professional field survey experience; 3+ years as a Party Chief or Field Lead.

• Mastery of Trimble equipment (or equivalent systems).

• Confident with municipal projects, construction staking, boundaries, and complex field scenarios.

• Clear communicator, mentor-minded, calm under pressure.

• CDL or ability to obtain preferred (but not required).

• Personal pride in high-quality field work and desire to build something bigger than yourself.

Position: Land Surveying Field Crew Member

Job Description: 

As a member of the Land Surveying Field Crew at Complete Design, Inc., you will play a fundamental role in conducting on-site surveying operations, gathering essential data, and supporting the overall surveying process. Your ability to work effectively outdoors and your attention to detail will be essential in providing precise measurements and data critical to our projects. This role offers a rewarding opportunity to work in various locations and contribute to the successful completion of diverse surveying assignments.


Responsibilities:

Report directly to the Senior PLS

• Assist the Land Surveying Field Chief in conducting land surveys, including boundary surveys, topographic surveys, and construction staking.

• Operate and maintain surveying instruments and equipment, such as total stations, levels, and data collectors.

• Participate in the establishment of survey control points and benchmarks to ensure accurate data collection.

• Utilize GPS technology and other surveying tools to enhance field data collection efficiency.

• Help prepare and verify survey field notes, sketches, and digital data files for in-office processing.

• Work collaboratively with the Land Surveying Field Crew to ensure efficient and accurate surveying operations.

• Adhere to safety protocols and practices while working on construction sites and in varying environmental conditions.

• Provide support to the office staff in data processing and office-related survey tasks as needed.

• Continuously develop your surveying skills and knowledge through on-the-job learning and professional development opportunities.

• Ensure regular maintenance of assigned company vehicle.


Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical education in land surveying is a plus.

• 2 years of experience as a Land Survey Technician or Land Surveying Field Crew Member, preferably in a private land surveying firm.

• Proficiency in using surveying instruments and equipment, including total stations and data collectors.

• Familiarity with GPS technology and surveying software is an advantage.

• Physical ability to work outdoors for extended periods, often in challenging terrain and weather conditions.

• Strong attention to detail and the ability to follow instructions accurately.

• Excellent communication and teamwork skills to collaborate effectively with the Survey Field Crew and office staff.

• Valid driver's license.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Land Use Planner with planning efforts, including rezones, variances, platting, and long-range plans.
  • Manage the permitting inbox and capture client messages accordingly.
  • Prepare reports, plans, and applications for municipalities and community stakeholders.
  • Format, proofread, and update legal documents, reports, and plans.
  • Examine plans, blueprints, and other documents to verify accuracy according to building codes.
  • Build trust and rapport with communities through authentic facilitation and communication.
  • Communicate requirements or changes to clients, educating them on permitting processes.
  • Advocate for human-first, sustainable, and inclusive development practices in all projects.
