Position Overview

You don’t just interpret zoning codes; you shape places where people belong.  As our Land Use Planner, you will guide the future of our built environments through planning rooted in purpose, equity, and connection.  Land use is more than regulation, its vision made visible.  This role is for someone who understands that how we plan reflects how we value community, ecology, and legacy.

Your Role

• Mentor junior planners to think beyond policy—toward people and place.

• Collaborate with architects, engineers, and surveyors to embed intention and story into every site plan.

• Represent clients and community in public meetings with clarity, integrity, and emotional presence.

• Build and nurture strong relationships with regulatory agencies, municipalities, and community stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

• Direct land use planning efforts, including rezones, variances, platting, and long-range plans.

• Prepare and present reports, plans, and applications to municipalities and community stakeholders.

• Guide internal teams with a clear understanding of local and state regulations.

• Advocate for human-first, sustainable, and inclusive development practices in all projects.

• Build trust with communities through authentic facilitation and communication.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in land use, urban planning, or related fields.

• Deep knowledge of Washington State and local planning regulations.

• Strong written and verbal communication skills, including public presentation experience.

• Proven ability to lead entitlement or community-led planning processes.

• High emotional intelligence and the ability to bridge technical knowledge with human-centered decision-making.

• A passion for sustainable development, community building, and purposeful land use.

You Might Be a Great Fit If You…

• Have led complex planning projects and enjoy navigating entitlement processes.

• Bring clarity, compassion, and confidence to public forums and community engagement.

• Think systemically, act strategically, and communicate with both head and heart.

• Want to be part of a firm where values and vision guide every project.

What We Value

• Human-centered design that fosters well-being, equity, and sacred living.

• Responsible land use and sustainable development practices.

• Translating complex regulations into accessible, people-first solutions.

• Authentic collaboration and leadership grounded in purpose.

Why Join Us?

• Competitive salary, commensurate with experience.

• Health, vision, and dental insurance.

• 401(k) plan with 4% company match.

• Flexible Monday–Thursday workweek for strong work-life balance.

• Professional development and continuing education support.

• Diverse and rewarding project portfolio.

• Clear paths for career growth within a supportive and dynamic team.
